Dadabhai Naoroji (1825-1917) popularly known as the 'Grand Old Man of India' was a prominent
figure of Indian nationalism. In his public life spanning over six decades he wrote thousands
of letters to political leaders and intellectuals in India the United Kingdom and elsewhere
most of which no longer survive. This volume includes many correspondence collected at the
National Archives of India which open a window to his political career and the broader
contours of the early Indian nationalist movement and Victorian politics in Great Britain.
