"How to Raise an Elephant" is the 21st book in the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series, and it is probably the best one in years. After reading "The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine" I seriously began to worry that the series had run out of steam, but since that book, the series has slowly returned to form. "How to Raise an Elephant" has all the characters firing on all cylinders, even Mma Makutsi is on top form and is not as awkward and brattish as she has been portrayed in some more recent novels. There is one very annoying continuity error in regards to the name of a character, but then again, the series has always had rather poor continuity, but even so, getting the name of the baby of one of the main characters wrong is a very big black mark on the continuity of the series and on the author and publisher.

Wirklich eine geniale Serie, tolle Charakter die dem Buch etwas persönliches geben, man kann an vielen Stellen einfach loslachen und wer schon einmal in Afrika gewesen ist, wird einiges wiedererkennen.
