Brooks Falls at Katmai National Park is one of the best spots to view brown bears. About 2 200
brown bears are estimated to inhabit the park. There are no roads to the falls so the only way
you will get there is by boat or floatplane. The best time for bear watching is at the height
of the annual salmon run which takes place during July. As many as 30 bears have been seen
