The book aims to answer the question Did Hilary of Poitiers compromise the Nicene faith when he
tried to bring together the homouseans and the homoeouseans? It argues that he merely affirmed
the orthodoxy of the homoeousean confession by highlighting its affinity with the Nicene faith
through the theological concept of the nativitas of the Son from God the Father.
