This book deals with shared verb morphology in Japanese and other languages that have been
identified as Transeurasian (traditionally: Altaic ) in previous research. It analyzes shared
etymologies and reconstructed grammaticalizations with the goal to provide evidence for the
genealogical relatedness of these languages.
