This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics
BSB 2014 held in Belo Horizonte Brazil in October 2014. The 18 revised full papers presented
were carefully reviewed and selected from 32 submissions. The papers cover all aspects of
