This text provides a thorough analysis of maternity services in Nepal. The following issues are
highlighted: Low acceptance and use of antenatal care risk approach and screening reasons and
extent of use of hospital-based obstetric care quality of care and health worker - client
interaction. This is complemented by a community-based study addressing the community
perception of pregnancy-related problems choice of care-giver and the communities' assessment
of modern maternity services.
