The book is written in two parts. The first part provides a comprehensive study of the history
and the manuscript transmission of the enlarged version of the Latin Rule of Chrodegang and its
Old English translation and an analysis of the language and style of the Old English text. The
second part contains a complete Latin and Old English text edition of all extant manuscripts
fragments and extracts together with a commentary. A modern English translation of the Old
English text concludes the book.
