The volume provides an overview of discourse perspectives on academic genres. The authors
discuss the changes which academic genres have undergone in the context of scientific
communication and against the evolution of postmodern culture and society. Cultural
heterogeneity of academic genres is shown to give way to their increasing hybridization.
