Therefore white is black worn away for good and black is white worn away for good This
monograph on the Romanian conceptual artist Miklós Onucsán (*1952) is an observation of his
artistic practice over a period of four decades. The book's title is the result of Onucsán's
Axiom (2005): White becomes darker with wear while black becomes lighter. That is why white is
forever black and black is forever white. This transition between the states of objects and the
modalities of their interpretations form one of the principles behind Onucsán's practice. The
book Therefore white is black worn away for good and black is white worn away for good unites a
range of essays by Sven Spieker Magda Radu Bogdan Ghiu Mihnea Mircan and Madalina
Bra?oveanu as well as an interview with the artist.
