This catalogue is dedicated to the emergence of the brilliant young artist Georg Ehrenfried
Gross - which is Grosz' birth name. The youthful Gross had a ways to go before changing his
name to George Grosz and becoming the most popular and sharp-tongued chronicler of the Weimar
Republic. With over fifty works from the years 1904 to 1917 all but a few exhibited for the
first time ever the inaugural exhibition of Das kleine Grosz Museum traces the artistic and
biographical trajectory of this journey. Text: Juerg Judin Pay Matthis Karstens Ralph Jentsch
