A beautifully illustrated survey of the work of an artist whose recurring themes were the human
body sexuality and vulnerability and the male image in art history. "Not Cool but
Compelling" is both the pithy title of a large abstract work executed in oil crayon on canvas
by the artist and of the first institutional solo exhibition of her oeuvre. With a highly
expressive approach and anthropomorphic visual language she takes up recurring themes such as
the human body sexuality and vulnerability challenges the connotations of the male image in
art history and references artists such as Vincent van Gogh André Breton and Martin
