Hudhud is proclaimed by UNESCO as a masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity and
which needs to be preserved as a record of cultural identity. This literary ethnographic study
is focused on the analysis of the theme and form of Hudhud of Dinulawan and Bugan at Gonhadan
published by Francis Lambrecht in 1967. The study determines and assesses the aesthetic and
cultural values of the Ifugao ethno-epic shedding light on the essence of the chant in
connection to their cosmos history behavior socio-political and cultural laws beliefs
traditions and practices.
