The Englishman Dudeney has indeed never studied mathematics but is now regarded as one of the
mathematical genius of his time. This newly edited work from 1917 made it into the contemporary
bestseller lists and is still very popular. It uniquely combines fun with mathematics and must
therefore be considered as one of the great classics of popular nonfiction books.
