John Oxenford (1812 1877) English dramatist and translator in this book gives us a very fine
overview of important German novels and stories of the 19th century such as Kleist's Michael
Kohlhaas Hoffmann's The Sandmann Tieck's The Klausenburg and others. Reprint of the original
edition in the year 1844.
