One assumption in debates about the relation between religion and science is that both are
concerned with the same topic and that there is therefore conflict between the two. According
to Wittgenstein's philosophy on the other hand religion and science are two different realms
of language and therefore cannot be in conflict. To accept this view we must abandon one of
the most widely held views about theistic religions: God is a metaphysical reality. Zoheir
Bagheri Noaparast examines Wittgenstein's texts and defends his views. He also argues that
science and religion are not completely detached from one another and explores the possibility
of interaction and mutual learning.
