This manual is intended for busy researchers with little time to train the special skill of
scientific writing. Based on the Linguistics theory of Discourse Analysis it introduces basic
criteria for writing with clarity coherence and flow to reflect scientific thought. The
exercises focus on the grammar and expressions typically used in the different components of a
research paper. The manual can be used for individual study or as teaching material for
seminars and workshops.
