Vignettes: A Miniature Journal of Whim and Sentiment is a collection of short stories by the
British writer of the late Victorian era Hubert Crackanthorpe. Being a supporter of naturalism
Crackanthorpe was also often compared with his contemporary Guy de Maupassant. They both
shared a passion for detailed psychological portraits. In addition Crackanthorpe had a talent
for describing scenes in a style that was rich with substance and texture.
