Teresa  Contessa Guiccioli (1800 - 1873) was the lover and companion of Lord Byron in times he
was living in Ravenna  Italy  and writing the first five cantos of Don Juan. This book is a
biographical account of Lord Byron's Life in Italy and their relationships. Later the author
herself became a fictional character. Alexandre Dumas included her as a minor personage in his
novel The Count of Monte Cristo using the disguised name.
