This work is an engaging story about a Celebrity whose actions don't align with what he
publishes. John Crocker was the friend of a celebrity long before he became famous. During a
summer retreat at Asquith resort he runs into the celebrity who has taken another man's
identity to remain anonymous. The celebrity meets Irene Trevor the daughter of an Ohio state
senator and proposes to her to marry him and she happily accepts. When Marian Thorn a female
he finds more alluring arrives at Asquith the celebrity leaves Miss Trevor without breaking
off the engagement. This behavior was against the moral fiber of the celebrity's stories. The
consequences of this betrayal are seen later in the novel. The story is full of realistic
characters. After a sudden encounter with his celebrity friend the unexpected events that John
Crocker gets involved in are depicted with excellent clarity.
