Elbow veröffentlichen ihr neuntes  von Craig Potter produziertes Studioalbum. In ihrem dritten
Jahrzehnt als Band schrieben sie ”Flying Dream 1” in ihren eigenen Home Studios und kamen dann
im historischen  200-jahre alten ”Brighton Theatre Royal zusammen  um die Songs zu
perfektionieren  aufzuführen und aufzunehmen.Sänger Guy Garvey über das Album: We realised we
were making a record free of the usual creative guidelines […] We love patient  quiet  whole
albums like the last Talk Talk records. […] We’ve always written songs like this  but it felt
natural to make an album that focuses on the gentler side of our music.There have been
challenges  but through them writing together remotely was a lifeline. It’s bruised and wistful
nostalgic  and thankful. We’re so lucky that all our family and friends are safe. It’s about
that love.” Ihre letzten drei Alben erreichten in UK #1 in den Albumcharts. Außerdem gehen
bereits Auszeichnungen wie der Mercury Music Prize (für The Seldom Seen Kid (2008))  ein Brit
Award für die beste Band des Jahres (2009) und zwei Ivor Novello Awards - best contemporary
song” und best song musically and lyrically” (2009) – auf ihr Konto.
