Collective Consumer Interests«: In 2015 the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority
(BaFin) has been mandated to protect collective consumer interests. The author analyses this
mandate and associated powers of the authority. The doctoral thesis includes sections on the
regulation of consumer financial markets on the concept underlying BaFin's consumer protection
mandate on the scope of its supervision (institutions and markets) and on its powers.
