Uwe Schloen has been working for thirty years in the fields of sculpture and installation. His
best-known pieces are his early wooden figures and his works in lead such as the Bunkerdorf
(Bunker village) in the Giardino di Daniel Spoerri in Tuscany. Schloen finds lead an
interesting material due to its equally protective and dangerous qualities. He has created
large heavy sculptures for his bus stop project OK.GO which covers the distance from
Luxembourg to Estonia. An imaginary bus trip connects these new cultural sites. This book is
the first to present an overview of Schloen's oeuvre from the early pieces to the
architectonic sculptures. Biography: born 1958 lives and works in Bremen. Exhibits in Germany
and abroad since 1986 including the Kunsthalle Osnabrück the Frederikshavn Kunstmuseum (DK)
artcanal Project Switzerland and South Korea the Kunsthaus Tartu in Estonia etc.
