In natural interaction speakers are not very precise about what they refer to but exchange a
lot of information between the lines that the communication partner needs to infer. The present
study investigates how ambiguity arises and can be resolved within this context. Spatial
relations allow to trace ambiguity actualization and resolution in a comprehensible way and
are analyzed comparatively in Spanish and German dialogues about spatial arrangements.
