Tokio - Moskau - Brunnen Der Fotograf Yves Suter (geb. 1983 in Brunnen lebt und arbeitet
in Zu¿rich) ist Kosmopolit und pendelte jahrelang zwischen dem Schweizer Alpendorf Brunnen und
den Metropolen Tokio und Moskau. An allen drei Orten fand er schnell Anschluss begab sich in
die Subkulturen der Skate- und Snowboardszenen und schuf in den vergangenen 25 Jahren
ungescho¿nte rohe Stadtporträts die sich von bekannten Klischees lo¿sen. Im Spiel mit der
Zeit Zufälligkeit und Vergänglichkeit dokumentieren seine schnappschussartigen Fotografien das
Leben und die Leute vor Ort ihre Sehnsu¿chte und Gemeinschaften. Die dreiteilige
Publikation Indefinite Album zeigt Suters Aufnahmen von 1997 bis heute. Die Beschaffenheit
der Bände spielt auf die Fotobuchtradition der jeweiligen Länder an. Mit Textbeiträgen des

Yves Suter (b. Brunnen 1983 lives and works in Zurich) is a global citizen and for years
shuttled between Brunnen a village in the Swiss Alps and the metropolitan centers of Tokyo
and Moscow. Making friends wherever he went he delved into the subcultures of the
skateboarding and snowboarding scenes and over the past twenty-five years he has created
unadorned and raw urban portraits that eschew familiar cliche¿s. Playing with time coincidence
and ephemerality his snapshot-like photographs document the life in a place and its people
their dreams and communities. The three-part publication Indefinite Album presents
Suter's photographs from 1997 to the present. The design of the volumes is a nod to the
photobook traditions of the three countries. With texts by the writer Rainer Brenner and the
artist.
