A fiction by Christine Jope-Slade this novel is the story of two strangers who meet and fake
their engagement. The book is written in the form of diary entries from Pam the lead character
an amateur honest and vibrant girl. She has some well-written and incredibly candid
descriptions of her thoughts feelings and actions. Excerpt from Love in a Muddle I love
reading but I have never thought of love or romance as being even remotely connected with me.
I have always been very interested in engaged couples and newly married people but I think it
is rather squashing to be the plain daughter of a pretty mother and a father who can't afford
to give you nice clothes.
