Concrete Playground In memory of Betoncentrale Ghent: Street art over the years ? Tribute to
the street art scene at the Ghent Betoncentrale In late 2020 the Inter-Beton concrete plant in
Ghent - the 'Betoncentrale' in the lingo - was demolished. With this book the cultural
department of the city of Ghent wants to keep the memory of this graffiti paradise alive. A
team of expert image editors identified the most important street artists who were active there
at the time providing a selection of the work that adorned the walls of the plant. Street art
expert Tristan Manco situates the local scene in its international context while street art
blogger Giulia Riva talked to the artists about their memories of that unique place. With work
