Tahir nailed it.She bloody nailed it.Fast-paced, mysteries, lovely, heart full, frustrating, and remarkable beautiful.I have no idea how this series is gonna end. There are too many twist and turns, wise words, “who is really the enemy”-moments and I kinda root for them all, and yet I don’t know. This is the frustrating part. Damn Tahir and her intriguing writing.We continue on our quest following loyal Laia aka “unwilling, but yet determined voice of the rebels”, strong and sweet Elias aka “The Soul Catcher”, and dutiful Helene aka “The Blood Shrike”.And what an emotional ride this book was. It seemed to focus a lot on Helene. She is probably my least favourite character to be in her head, and yet this book won me over. She is strong, stubborn, loyal to the crown and her family and most of all. She tries to do what is right.I guess they all do. It’s just so captivating. They are all trying to do good. The world is just not agreeing with them. I cried. I screamed. I laughed and I hurt. So compelling. I can simply not wait for the next. I have no idea what to expect. I have zero idea how it’s gonna go.AND I CAN’T BLOODY WAIT FOR IT.

Ich bin so sehr gespannt auf das nächste Buch! Sabaa Tahir hat hier eine Welt geschaffen, die absolut fesselnd war. Die Charaktere sind moralisch alle sehr grau was ich persönlich nur noch spannender finde. Am Anfang vom ersten Buch war ich ja noch etwas skeptisch aber jetzt bin ich vollkommen gefangen und würde am liebsten das nächste Buch verschlingen.

Just as the previous two books, this one is a very exciting read and is really hard to put down. Each revelation gets you excited for reading more of it to find out what comes next!10/10 recommended.
