Based on a multi-sited study combining biographical interviews and ethnographic observations
this book examines intergenerational transmission processes in families of Moroccan origin in
France and Germany. It addresses the strategies of self-regard developed by the families and
the concept of historical transnationalism which combines postcolonial and transnational
research perspectives.
