Stefan Rinck. Der Alpen-Clan kehr zurück / The Return of the Alpine Clan

Key sculptures from the last ten years and newly created works by a sculptor who merges material, symbolism, cultural allusions and humour like no other. This volume provides an overview of Stefan Rinck's idiosyncratic artistic development while also documenting more than thirty newly created sculptures. Brittle, clay-coloured Elbe sandstone, vividly coloured blue Macauba or green Atlantis quartzite, snow-white Statuario marble: Rinck's sculptures are definitely no lightweights. And yet they appear like feather-light fantasies in which the sculptor entwines facets of high and low culture with e pochs of cultural and art history to create a fantastic panopticon of figures. Text: Max Henry, Michael Hering, Benedikt Ledebur, Christiane Voss.
